These strategies resulted in three main products: developing the years-long Climate Champion program, the Climate Kelpie web portal, CliMag magazine, among supporting media coverage and fact sheets. The Climate Champion work with Australian farmers garnered a finalist spot at the 2015 Eureka Awards – a project that I managed at Econnect.

I was part of the team to survey, research, develop and plan the communication strategy. We then implemented plans for a new web portal, news website, internal newsletter, fact sheets, media outreach and more.

I sourced, edited, matched pictures for, and published news stories for the TunaPacific website, to help small Pacific nations manage tuna fisheries.

I analysed the interviews with people from DSTO to work towards a new outreach and engagement strategy. I wrote a report to contribute to and help guide the new strategy.

I provided advice and edited media releases for the annual Fresh Science competition (and eventual winners), which challenges young researchers to present their work in a very accessible way. I also then worked with the winners to release their stories to the media.

I interviewed a historical figure for one of the films shown in the visitor centre in Karumba (north Queensland). We used the video, audio and interview to script the story to help tell the story of barramundi in north Queensland. I also researched and chose photos to use in the centre.

I wrote compelling stories about the outcomes of the research investments of Managing Climate Variability. This included writing, editing, interviewing, sourcing pictures and resources.

I created stories from seasonally relevant ideas for the quarterly grain-growing magazine which focused on growers using research outcomes to farm more efficiently. This included writing, editing, interviewing, sourcing pictures and resources.
