I edited Mr Brinsmead’s manuscript to ready it for publication (immediately before my maternity leave).

I edited papers and reports written by international scientists for clarity, consistency, error-free text and captions. Each document was at a different stage and with different deadlines, so flexibility and kindness in editing was required.

I edited policy documents and case studies for the Reef 2050 plan – a critical set of documents for the key management agency for the reef. This work required careful adherence and sensitivity to policy and content guidelines, and style, of the agency.

I provided advice and edited media releases for the annual Fresh Science competition (and eventual winners), which challenges young researchers to present their work in a very accessible way. I also then worked with the winners to release their stories to the media.

I researched and fact-checked questions and answers for a crossword puzzle app. This client required very fast work to exacting character standards, so that my work would fit with many other international consultants.

I edited a paper which discussed sensory system investments for Queensland for CSIRO’s Data61. I ensured consistency, ease of reading, and error-free text, headings and captions.

I edited the 2016 annual report for CSIRO, making sure it met the exacting standards of the organisation. I checked it was error-free, that it flowed smoothly, was internally consistent, and captions and subheadings were clear and descriptive.

I wrote compelling stories about the outcomes of the research investments of Managing Climate Variability. This included writing, editing, interviewing, sourcing pictures and resources.

I created stories from seasonally relevant ideas for the quarterly grain-growing magazine which focused on growers using research outcomes to farm more efficiently. This included writing, editing, interviewing, sourcing pictures and resources.
